SCOTT ANDERSON
VIDEOGRAPHER
MOTION GRAPHICS
I am first and foremost a videographer, however, I consider myself more than qualified to animate and execute 2D animation ideas. All animation videos were created by me from scratch. Any iconography you may see was done by a graphic designer or taken from a stock library.
SUPER BOWL
LIVESTOCK AD
I wanted to incorporate football symbols such as "X's and O's," so I made that a transition asset to the video. The amount of info our client wanted in the video required me to do a lot of masking animation rather then kinetic type - which worked out well to dive into the video assets.
POLICY PROCESS
This was a challenging animation to accomplish because of the subject matter. I had to really think "outside the box" to think of icons that represented key words or phrases that were said. Incorporating video into this animated video also helped visually explain different parts of this process.
WHAT IS IFB?
This video was dominated by rapid kinetic typography animation. I took inspiration from Apple's "Don't Blink" advertisement, where a ton of information is unloaded rather quickly. I tried to use simple graphic design principles and jarring movement to make phrases or words stand out. At the same time - I had to make sure elements were not too cluttered to where the person wouldn't know what to read. I also wrote the script for this project.
COLLEGIATE
After reading the script for this requested animated video. I knew I had to have a repetitive animation to show a new person being introduced. I wish some of the icons could have looked more unison in their design, however I had little control over changing what I was given by our designers.
FARM BUREAU
The Loading Zone is an ongoing project started in the Fall of 2017 produced by students at the Ball State Digital Corps in partnership with the university’s PBS affiliate, WIPB. The project consists of a series of short animated episodes designed to teach younger children about different types of technology. I was an animator for this series where I worked entirely in Adobe After Effects and received the assets and illustrations from our design team.
