BACKGROUND
I have known since childhood that I wanted to tell stories—stories that entertain, inform, and move audiences. That passion continues to drive my work today. I attribute the longevity of my motivation and professional success to a consistent, disciplined work ethic that I bring to every project. From producing a wide range of video content at Ball State University to advancing into a Senior Video Producer role at Illinois Farm Bureau, each experience has strengthened my confidence, composure, and open-minded approach. These qualities have enabled me to lead the production of two documentaries, mentor video interns, and contribute to two Emmy Award–winning projects. I remain eager to push creative boundaries and adopt new techniques in an era where video is more influential and accessible than ever.

MY KEYS TO VIDEO PRODUCTION
Below are principles I find to be essential throughout the production process.
Plan
Having an organized workflow is vital to the success of the production process. The more thought that is put into pre-production, the better the end product will be. Scripts, storyboards, preliminary interviews, and location scouts, are all steps I try to take.
Be Efficent
One of the most valuable ways to learn and grow is through repetition. Each challenge strengthens our ability to adapt, think on our feet, and respond with confidence. Developing that efficiency and decisiveness is essential, especially when time on location is limited and every moment counts.
Genuinely Listen
Whether monitoring audio or conducting an interview firsthand, listening is one of the most essential skills to have. Staying alert and fully present in the moment not only helps capture authentic, meaningful moments, but can also elevate the story itself. Most importantly, listening is what helps build trust with your interviewee.
Remain Open
I keep an extremely open mind to ideas, colleagues, and equipment. By trying new concepts and embracing healthy, constructive criticism I allow myself to keep learning new skills in different ways. It's invaluable to have different eyes and perspectives throughout the process.
